How it all began

Our Story

Adrian and Victoria

We met in the spring of 2019 at Purdue University, both Resident Assistants, unaware that we were beginning a story that would unfold slowly, patiently, and in ways neither of us could have planned.

One of our first memories together was at Wiley Dining Court, where Victoria told Adrian he had "really straight teeth." A small, funny moment at the time — but looking back, the kind of detail that only makes sense in hindsight: the beginning of something ordinary that would one day become everything.

What started as friendship grew through everyday moments and unforgettable seasons. Through the laughter, uncertainty, and struggles of the pandemic, we became part of each other's daily lives — cooking, eating together, playing games, swimming, playing basketball, going to church, and simply showing up for one another. In a season when the world felt paused, our friendship quietly kept growing.

When life brought us to Indianapolis, that bond only deepened. Even as careers, distance, and new chapters pulled us in different directions, we kept finding our way back to each other.

It was when Victoria left for travel nursing that the ache of distance revealed something more. She realized she wasn't just missing home — she was missing Adrian. Over a heartfelt FaceTime conversation while Adrian was in India, she shared what had been growing inside her. To her joy, Adrian felt it too. What had been building quietly for years finally had a name.

When Adrian returned, our friendship became love — not the sudden kind, but the kind that had been rooted for years: steady, familiar, patient, and deeply known. Falling in love felt less like starting over and more like finally arriving.

Together, we built a life in Seattle, the city that became home to our next chapter — where we grew as partners, dreamed about the future, and learned what it means to choose each other every day.

What began as two students meeting as co-workers at Purdue has become a love story we never expected, but one we cherish every day: built slowly, strengthened by distance, rooted in friendship, and carried forward by faith, family, laughter, and the joy of finding home in each other. Today, we are so grateful for the story God has written — and even more excited for the chapters still to come.

The moment everything changed

The Proposal

On February 21, 2026, Adrian planned a proposal in Seattle overlooking Lake Washington — no place more fitting for Victoria, who has always loved being near the water. What began as a rainy day became something that felt almost meant to be: after hours of heavy rain, the skies cleared just in time for the moment we had both been dreaming of for months.

When Victoria stepped onto the terrace and saw the floral heart arch, the water, and the love surrounding her, she was completely overwhelmed. She kept saying "I'm nervous" — the moment so emotional that much of it felt like a blur. Adrian was nervous too, so he had written down his words: not because he lacked them, but because he didn't want to forget a single thing he wanted to say to the woman he loved.

For months, he had quietly planned every detail — designing Victoria's dream diamond ring, arranging secret rides with friends, and working with the people closest to us to make the day come together beautifully. Our families were hidden just out of sight, watching through the window as the moment unfolded.

With tears in his eyes, Adrian poured out his heart, got down on one knee, and asked Victoria to marry him. Through tears of her own, she said "Yes!"

Afterward, we stepped into a room filled with the people who had loved us, prayed for us, and helped bring the day to life — photos, hugs, happy tears, and an engagement party lovingly prepared by friends and family. Rain that stopped at the perfect time, a ring made with love, a promise spoken from the heart. The perfect beginning to forever.
